Ben Patz

Ben is Managing General Partner of the FAN Fund, which is an early stage fund that invests in high growth companies in the technology or life science sectors. The FAN Fund focuses on the underserved market of Florida, and it originated as an angel group populated by successful entrepreneurs and executives.

Previously, Ben was the Founder and CEO Coleman Technologies, where he grew sales to $250M and exited in 2009. He was then COO of Presidio until 2013, where he ran operations and led the company’s M&A activities. Ben has been the Principal investigator on a number of SBIR grants relating to the application of Fuzzy Logic and Neural Networks to control systems. He specializes in computation, control systems, and simulations.

Ben has a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida, and a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He has also been honored with Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year award for Florida in 2002 and UCF’s Professional Achievement Award in 2006.
